In Malaysia, there are a number of telco offering tourist’s SIM Card (a package that commonly includes voice and mobile Internet services). In this article, I will do a breakdown of the major telco’s price plan and finally end with a recommendation of my own.

Mobile top-up services (Now available at Changi Airport) ** Latest
Malaysia telco mobile top up service is available at all Changi Recommend outlets and is available for the major telco providers in Malaysia such as Celcom, Digi, Maxis, Tune Talk and U Mobile. The top up credits can be purchased from as low as SGD3.50 for a RM10 top up credit.
You need to already have a registered phone number with the respective telco, and use it to top up your own prepaid balance or send credits home for your family.
Things to note is that the credit top up are not immediate and will take up to 6 hours for it to be reflected, and you also need to text them with your order number to get it processed.
Changi Mobile (Now available at Changi Airport) ** Latest
Sign up and register a new line with Changi Mobile with the below VAS (value added services).
Comes with various plans to suit every individual’s needs in Singapore and during overseas. You can use it for unlimited data roaming overseas and is available in 14 countries.
There are various travel packs offering unlimited data package or limited data with 30 days validity, depending on the destination country you will be travelling to.

Singapore M1 Subscriber Take Note !
If you are an existing Singapore M1 handphone plan subscriber, you can enroll for their Data Passport at an additional SGD10 per destination per month. With M1 Data Passport, you can utilize your local Singapore data bundle as you roam (along with any upsized data or Youth/Senior benefits). Do note that this Data Passport is only for roaming on Celcom network and not any other Malaysia telco networks.
